Gem Security Named in the 2023 Gartner Cool Vendors for the Modern Security Operations Center

We’re excited to share that Gem Security has been named a Cool Vendor in Gartner’s latest report: Cool Vendors for the Modern Security Operations Center!

The Cool Vendors report, which Gartner subscribers can access here, states that “as organizations undertake digital transformation initiatives, become cloud-first, and adapt to external forces that stress organizational resiliency, new risks and threats will pose new challenges."

The shift to cloud has certainly created new challenges for security operations teams today. Existing security operations tooling isn’t built for the cloud, and organizations struggle to get the real-time visibility they need to respond to cloud threats, spending far too much time on manual detection engineering, alert investigation, and threat response.

Why Gem is Cool

Gem was named a Cool Vendor for allowing businesses to “extend their detection and response solutions into the cloud with easy-to-implement and continuous visibility into the modern infrastructure and services on which they depend.”

As the report notes, Gem provides several unique benefits to the business:

  • Easy-to-digest analysis of cloud-native threats, providing the context that security operators need to respond quickly and effectively effectively

  • Effective executive-level reporting telemetry collection completeness and breach readiness

  • Complete support for all major cloud providers, allowing businesses to achieve immediate coverage for multi-cloud environments

At Gem, we’re thrilled to receive this recognition as a Cool Vendor for the Modern Security Operations Center. Traditional security operations tools aren’t built for the cloud environment, and Gem provides SecOps teams with the purpose-built solution they need to eliminate detection engineering and reduce response time from days to minutes. As modern environments continue to shift into the cloud, modern security operations must keep pace.

In addition to recognizing Gem as a Cool Vendor, just a few weeks ago Gartner also highlighted the emerging category of Cloud Investigation and Response Automation (CIRA) in its latest Gartner Hype Cycle for Workload and Network Security, 2023. At Gem, we believe this inclusion is significant, and signifies the growing market need for security operations tooling that's built for the cloud era.

Gem’s comprehensive Cloud Detection and Response platform comes with CIRA capabilities, and Gem was also recognized as a Sample Vendor for CIRA vendor in the Hype Cycle for Workload and Network Security, 2023. As organizations continue to shift workloads to cloud, the need for cloud detection and response capabilities will only grow. We think this recognition is important validation of this emerging market need.
